Switching IT providers

13 questions

How do I switch IT providers?

Start by reviewing the current agreement, renewal and termination dates, services, accounts, devices, vendors, open issues, and documentation. NV8 Technology Group can inventory the environment, define the agreed replacement scope, request authorized access, and plan an overlap or cutover before the former provider’s responsibilities end.

Can NV8 Technology Group replace our current managed IT provider?

Yes, subject to discovery, access, availability, and a written service agreement. NV8 Technology Group can assume responsibility for the managed services named in the agreement. Support hours, escalation paths, onsite coverage, and exclusions are documented before takeover.

Can NV8 Technology Group work alongside our existing IT provider?

Yes. NV8 Technology Group can handle a defined project or service while an internal employee or another provider retains other responsibilities. A written responsibility and escalation plan should identify who owns each system, request, and decision.

Will switching IT providers disrupt our organization?

Every transition carries some risk, so NV8 Technology Group inventories dependencies, plans change windows, communicates affected work, and validates access and services before closing the transition. NV8 Technology Group does not promise a disruption-free switch; timing and risk depend on the environment and cooperation from current vendors.

What information is needed to change IT providers?

Useful records include the current agreement, renewal dates, user and device lists, software and license inventories, vendor contacts, network diagrams, domain and hosting ownership, cloud tenants, backup details, administrator roles, open tickets, and known issues. Do not send passwords through the website form.

What happens if our current provider controls our accounts?

NV8 Technology Group first identifies which accounts the organization owns and which access must be transferred or recreated. With the organization’s authorization, NV8 Technology Group can coordinate role changes, exports, and account transfers. NV8 Technology Group will not bypass access controls or represent that a disputed account can always be recovered.

Can NV8 Technology Group review our existing IT agreement?

NV8 Technology Group can review operational details such as covered services, support hours, renewal dates, access, data return, documentation, and transition duties. That review is not legal advice; contract interpretation or disputes should be reviewed by qualified counsel.

Can we switch providers before our current contract ends?

Sometimes. The existing agreement, termination terms, cost, access, and operational needs determine the available options. NV8 Technology Group can prepare the environment, address a separate service gap, or work alongside the current provider until an authorized cutover date.

How long does an IT-provider transition take?

The timeline depends on users, devices, sites, systems, documentation, contract terms, access, and current-provider cooperation. NV8 Technology Group provides a proposed sequence after discovery instead of promising a fixed transition period before the environment is reviewed.

What should we look for in a new IT provider?

Ask for a written service scope, support hours, escalation rules, security and backup responsibilities, organization-controlled accounts, current documentation, vendor-coordination duties, onboarding and offboarding procedures, pricing, and exit terms. Confirm what is excluded as carefully as what is included.

Can NV8 Technology Group take over Microsoft 365 administration?

Yes, when Microsoft 365 administration is included in the agreement and the organization can authorize access to its tenant. NV8 Technology Group can review administrator roles, users, licenses, security settings, account lifecycle, and documentation. Exact migration or remediation work is scoped separately.

Can NV8 Technology Group take over our website and domain management?

Yes, when the platform, registrar, hosting, code, content, DNS, integrations, and existing agreements permit an authorized transfer. NV8 Technology Group can inventory ownership and access, coordinate transfer, document organization-controlled accounts, and define maintenance responsibilities.

Can NV8 Technology Group manage services that are currently split among several vendors?

Yes. NV8 Technology Group can consolidate agreed IT, network, cloud, website, or security responsibilities or coordinate vendors the organization chooses to retain. The final agreement identifies the owner and escalation path for each service so gaps are visible.

Managed IT Services

6 questions

Does NV8 Technology Group offer unlimited technical support?

Qualifying managed IT plans include unlimited remote help desk support for covered users, covered devices, and covered support issues during the support hours defined in the agreement. Unlimited support does not mean unlimited projects, equipment, cabling, after-hours labor, third-party fees, or unrestricted onsite work.

What does unlimited help desk support include?

Employees may contact NV8 Technology Group about covered computer, email, account, software, printer, and connectivity problems during the included support hours. Covered channels, escalation procedures, users, devices, and exclusions are documented in the managed IT agreement.

Not unless the agreement expressly includes them. Hardware purchases, software licenses, cabling, office moves, major migrations, new-system implementations, third-party fees, and other projects may be proposed and priced separately.

Are on-site visits included in managed IT plans?

On-site support terms depend on the selected plan. The agreement states whether onsite visits are included, scheduled separately, subject to travel or labor charges, or reserved for specific covered issues. Unlimited remote support does not automatically include unlimited onsite work.

Does NV8 Technology Group provide after-hours support?

Standard support is not represented as 24/7. Any after-hours availability, response expectations, contact method, and additional fees must be included in a written service agreement or separately approved work order.

Which users and devices are covered?

Backup & Disaster Recovery

5 questions

Does Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace already back up everything we need?

Not necessarily. Platform retention and recovery features vary by service, configuration, license, event, and time period. NV8 Technology Group can compare those capabilities with the organization’s documented recovery requirements before recommending additional coverage.

Can NV8 Technology Group guarantee that every system or file will be recovered?

No. Recovery depends on the systems and data included in the agreement, successful backup jobs, retention, provider availability, credentials, testing, and the condition of the stored data. Scope, exclusions, and known limitations are documented.

How often should recovery be tested?

The schedule depends on system importance, change frequency, recovery requirements, provider capabilities, and the approved service scope. The agreed schedule and test method should be documented rather than assumed.

Can NV8 Technology Group take over backup management from another provider?

Yes, for an agreed scope. NV8 Technology Group can inventory existing products and coverage, confirm authorized access and account ownership, review recent job and test results, document gaps, and coordinate an approved transition.

Is backup the same as disaster recovery or business continuity?

No. Backups preserve defined data or systems. Disaster recovery addresses how technology is restored after disruption, while business continuity also addresses people, facilities, communications, vendors, and operating priorities. The responsibilities included in an NV8 Technology Group engagement are defined in writing.
